The first time I met Cindy was during SXSW 2005. Two lovely Asian women introduced themselves to me and wanted lipstick kisses. I was happy to comply. This was my first time meeting Cindy. It was a brief meeting and there was a few laughs but I think I instantly knew she must be Good People. I was excited to run into her during SXSW during one of the following years.

I don’t remember why, but I posted no photos of Matt & Cindy from the ‘formal’ wedding of Nov. 6, 2010 in SF. I have raided my secret AWS stash of photos for a few. Please forgive if slightly blurry, as we were all having a lovely time. More photos here

I am realizing how few photos I took of Cindy - I think because she was always the one with the camera (and always a better camera than what I had!) I’ve been looking through her flickr feed and realizing how much I love these photos of the two of us. Cindy’s wearing a crown of course, (that might be blurry Matt in the background?) and I’m super pregnant. I think these were on her tour of saying goodbye to the DMV area.

Cindy and Apollo came by the office and we went up on the roof for the requisite Bay Bridge picture. Apollo patiently held still long enough for the picture before slinging his web to go fight crime.

I don’t think I’ve posted this one yet - Joshua and I went out to visit in June 2016- Cindy is hiding behind Apollo’s stroller because she didn’t want anyone to really know she was pregnant yet, so she didn’t even want me to post these photos at the time even though she’s well hidden. Apollo and Mathison had so much fun at the Daniel Tiger exhibit at the children’s museum, and it prompted so many Cindy/Mr.

When Cindy and Matt came to visit and we saw some Gators Basketball.

This was at SXSW 2009 and I’m pretty darn sure I was there solely because Cindy vouched for me. In any case, it was some fancy dinner away from the conference and I met you and a bunch of other folks and Cindy was her usual delightful self.

Dear Cindy, I want to thank you for the good times we shared in the Flickr offices and outside of them. Your expertise in UX design has always been very inspirational for me when we worked together, and I still remember the day when we had that little talk about Veerle from the Netherlands and about how much I enjoy her blog, to which you just responded that you are actually friends.

It’s only fitting that the first time I met Cindy there was an adventure involved. We flew “above and beneath the Golden Gate Bridge,” as she reminded me this weekend. I’d forgotten about that part.

After a brilliant talk at SXSW, I managed to convince Cindy to come back to her alma mater and inspire them with her creativity.

Cindy and Emily gave me this Hello Kitty as the three of us are fans. Today, she’s with me and so is Cindy. I know she’s watching and caring for all of us like she always do.

Took this photo in a swank neighborhood in Los Gatos at the end of our cross-country drive to move Cindy to San Francisco. There was some coding event going on at this rented house and we popped by on Tantek’s invitation (if memory serves). We didn’t know anyone, didn’t have laptops, and spent the afternoon hanging around this strange house in a strange place talking to strange people. So, natch, we took funny photos.
